Vision

The CIT IE Department shall be a highly respected institution in the field of Industrial Engineering education whose graduates are the preferred choice of Industries and Business Establishments not only in the Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao Area but also for the whole South East Asia.

Mission

The CIT-IE Department has three main “customers” to satisfy. The first customers are the students and the parents who choose to entrust to the department, the educative formation of their children. The second customer is the Administration of the Cebu Institute of Technology whose support in terms of morals and resources are indispensable to the achievement of the department goals and objectives. But the most important customer of the CIT-IE Department is the Business Community and the whole society where its students shall become a part of as responsible and productive citizens.


The CIT IE Department shall:

• Provide the proper instruction, practical training and total educative environment necessary for its students to acquire the knowledge, skills, attitude and total discipline to become effective Industrial Engineers.

• Develop the curriculum and the training program relevant to the needs of the Industries and Business Establishments in the Visayas and Mindanao Area

• Develop the faculty members and provide them the facilities to become effective in their instructions to the students

• Market and promote the department to attract enrollees, increase the department population, and contribute more revenues to CIT.


Strategies

So that the CIT IE Department can fulfill its mission and become what it envisions the following strategies shall be adopted:

• Linkage with Industries

Linkage with Industries shall provide feedback to the department on the needs of industries. This feedback shall become a very important input to curriculum development. The linkage shall also provide students for on the job practical training, thus increasing employability as they gain the experience and the contact with the industries.

• Research and Development

Respectable learning institutions must be the pioneer in research work that will open up new frontiers. The CIT IE Department shall emphasize the importance of research work among its students and faculty. Research works related to the field of Industrial Engineering shall be properly documented and recognized through publication.

• Faculty Development

The CIT-IE Department shall advocate faculty development efforts and encourage its faculty to pursue post graduate degree.

• Facilities Upgrading

Laboratory and instructional facilities of the Department shall be upgraded to provide the students the skills needed in the industries and business establishments.

• Market the Department

The CIT – IE Department shall launch its marketing program to attract enrollees from various institutions in the Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao and eventually outside the Philippines. Its marketing medium shall not be limited to conventional means. Aside from its regular publication, the department shall put up and maintain a web page. (This is it!!)
